Hello, I was doing research on PRP injection for my foot. There were a couple articles that mentioned a bleeding disorder such as anemia. I have iron anemia and easily get very dizzy. I know iron anemia is a blood disorder. Can people with any type of anemia do prp injections? | |
Patients considering PRP treatment with iron deficiency anemia should not have a problem. The PRP treatment involves separating the serum from plasma. The iron deficiency anemia is only involved in the serum. The PRP treatment only uses the plasma. So this specific anemia should not be a contra-indication to doing the PRP procedure.
That being said. It is possible that the density of the blood is affected and will change the separation. In other-words the plasma may “look” a little bit different, but it is still an effective procedure in iron deficient patients. |
