Can PRP be Used in Arthritis? | |
There are limited studies that show safety, efficacy in arthritis of the knee and hip.
The gist is this: If patients cannot have or refuse cortisone or surgery PRP is an option with appropriate consent, good post inj rehab protocol.’ The younger the patient with less arthritis the better the outcome with PRP. The outcome is only painfree function. I use an objective score eg WOMAC or oxford score to keep track of outcome. |
