Is PRP approved by the FDA in treating arthritis?

PRP is a procedure and not a drug. Therefore PRP itself does not need FDA approval. However, the devices that separate and concentrate the PRP do need FDA approval. These devices recieve approval for use for specific treatments. As of yet I am unaware that any device has FDA approval specifically for the treatment of arthritis. There is also, as of yet, no good literature to show that PRP treatment is effective in treating arthritis although some docs do use it for this based on case studies of symptomatic improvement.
